EXTERNAL COMPETITION RESULTS
Diamond Jubilee 2020
22/02/2020
judged by Leo Rich DPAGB APAGB EFIAP/g ARPS
KCPA's inter-club PDI competition.
Not a great result for Invicta, joint 23rd of 34 clubs entered, but we have done worse in other years.
Our entries and scores were as follows (see note about overall scoring):
'Fun on a Bike' by Roger Birchall : 14
'Racing Side Car' by Roger Birchall : 16 and selected for commentary
'Reflections at the Grand Prismatic Spring' by Chas Bedford LRPS CPAGB : 14
'Remembering The Few' by Joan Austin BPE2* AFIAP CPAGB : 16
'Solitude' by Tracy Hughes LRPS CPAGB BPE1* : 14
'Sunshine Centre' by Tracy Hughes LRPS CPAGB BPE1* 15
'Waiting' by Andrew Garnham : 14
'White Pelicans in Grand Tetons National Park' by Chas Bedford LRPS CPAGB : 15
To put these scores into context, the pattern of scores in the overall competition is very different from what we are used to, with the judge using a fuller range and biasing downward. The median and mode scores were 15 (26% of entries) and only 10% scored in the 18-20 range. There was only one 20 in 272 images. Almost twice as many scored the lowest mark of 12 as scored 19-20.
